About the Artist
Tam Douglas is a watercolor and water media artist based in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. Since taking up watercolor painting in late 2023, Douglas has been accepted into exhibitions across the state, including shows in Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo, Holladay, Brigham City, Morgan, and Logan, earning numerous awards and sales along the way.
She quickly achieved Two-Star status in the Utah Watercolor Society, with works juried into the 2025 and 2026 Spring exhibitions, as well as the Fall 2025 and 2026 Rising Stars shows. One of her paintings in the 2025 Spring exhibition was selected by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums for its annual traveling exhibition, touring eight venues statewide over the year, while another won Best of Show in the UWS (Cache Valley) Summer exhibition. Her painting “Geometry in Nature” also won Best of Show at the December 2025 Ogden Community Art Show and was featured as the cover art for Street Ogden Magazine’s 2026 spring edition.
During the summer of 2025, she expanded into plein air painting, bringing speed, precision, and expressive detail to the medium, and shared this new interest with other artists by incorporating it into local club activities.
Currently, Douglas is involved in the regional art communities as:
Vice President of PCOO (Palette Club of Ogden)
Technology Admin staff at Gallery 25, Ogden
Board Chair (plein air paint out coordinator) at Utah Watercolor Society (Salt Lake chapter)
Board Chair (plein air paint out coordinator) at Intermountain Society of Artists
With a rapidly growing exhibition record, increasing regional recognition, and various roles in regional organizations, Douglas has established a strong presence in northern Utah’s contemporary art scene.
